Hello all! Happy Mothers Day to all the mums out there, like my Mum, grandmother, and great grandmother. Hi Mum! Hi Nan! This is for you! ❤️😄So, this weeks post is about a (woolly) present I made for my mother, some cooking that I did, and my little buns big adventure. As always, merry reading!
I thought, for Mothers day, I would make Mum something nice… I dug through my great Nanas’ old knitting patterns, and found mostly instructions for socks. Perfect! Mum loves woolly socks! If you read my first post “Handmade ponies and a blissful morning walk“, you will know that start now, learn how to do these little thingys later! Is the way I tend to go about knitting. Not the best, smartest way to go about it…🙂↔️🙄I picked out one two-tone pink and one plum purple yarn and started on the first. I knitted the cuff bit, then the instep (heel), then I got all the way to the ribbing for the main foot part when I realised that the cuff was way, way too short for Mums liking, and it was too small. Hmmm. 🤔I unraveled back to the cuff, and doubled that, then made the instep smaller (so essentially less decreasing stitches, so bigger), then continued with the knit 2, purl 2 ribbing. I cast off, then back to the start for sock #2. I made them a little too big for me, and they should fit Mum. The pattern did not mention how to sew them up, so I worked that out myself (which is why they are so….. unique? But thankyou dear great Nana!💜☺️

For Sunday, I made Mum her requested meals: Breakfast was Cruffins, Mum bought nice croissants and I cut them in half, squished them down in a muffin tin, poured in whisked egg, and topped with bacon and cheese. Yum!😋🤤 Dinner was Chicken and vegetable soup with Garlic and herb pull-apart bread. Dessert was Chamomile honey cake with crème fraìche icing. (Yes, I know the i in fraìche is actually topped by a caret, but I cannot do that on this keyboard so if you would indulge me☺️) I hope it tasted great! Pics attached:

This morning for breakfast I wanted something quite nice, but healthy, so I found this ‘Protein Banana Baked Pancake’. It was a hit with my family, and it had yoghurt, spelt flour, a little honey, banana, almonds, Mums collagen, baking powder etc. Pictured with Whipped Maple Butter!

Yesterday, my little rabbits Albus and Mosey enjoyed some outside time. We had to supervise them, as the cage wasn’t that stable, and our cats aren’t that trustworthy with bunnys… but boy did they enjoy it! Mosey went first, he is not very intrepid so he spent a while hiding before deciding the grass was far too tempting. He ate happily, before leaping into some binkys (The technical term for rabbit zoomies!) Then it was Albus’ turn… he is much more adventurous, so he was accustomed to it faster than Mosaic… but he was amazed about how BIG everything was. He is not much bigger than a guinea pig, so trees and buildings are massive to him. We got some cute photos…

So, that’s a wrap for now, I hope you liked it! Lots of photos today. See you next week! Love, Amarylli 🩵🐴
